Privacy

What we keep, and what we don’t

This describes what the site actually does today, not a template policy.

In your browser

The site sets no cookies. It stores four values in your browser's local storage, and only when you change a setting on the preferences page: your theme choice, your timezone choice, your clock format and whether relative dates are shown. These never leave your device, and clearing site data removes them. If local storage is blocked, the site still works and says so on the preferences page.

There is no analytics, no tracking pixel, no advertising and no third-party script of any kind. The site loads no remote fonts. Links to source material point at other organisations' websites, which have their own policies.

On the server

The site is a set of static files. There is no login, no database, no form and no endpoint that accepts submissions. When the site is deployed to its production host, standard content-delivery request logs (request time, requested path, response status, coarse user agent and originating address) will be retained for a bounded period for operational and security purposes only. Until deployment happens, no such logs exist.

Changes

If monetisation, analytics or any other data collection is ever added, this page will be updated before the change goes live, and the change will appear in the updates feed.
